This barbaric trend has now spread to its own citizens, especially the opposition party sympathizers who are now treated as enemies of the state! A recently leaked audio in which an ambassador was clearly heard plotting with members of Zambia's ruling Patriotic Front (PF) Party cadres to go after members of the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) who had acquired police clearance from the host country to peacefully demonstrate at the Zambian embassy is symptomatic of a rogue state!
In the leaked audio, the cheeky ambassador clearly and severally referred to the opposition UPND members as the ‘enemy’ who must be stopped at any cost!
In fact, in Zambia, it may now be policy to treat dissenting political views as treason! As we, speak this regime can’t even acknowledge that they are holding some Barotse people as Political prisoners in Zambian jails over trumped-up treason charges!
Edgar Lungu must forgive many of us when we don’t buy into his crazy idea that one day of prayer ritual will sanitize his regime from all the state-sponsored corruption, human rights abuses and treachery inflicted on Barotse people and Zambian citizens at large.
It is easy to deceive the simple but the wise and the truly knowledgeable believers will see through this hypocrisy!
There is nothing Christian about the Zambian state! It is as diabolical and as oppressive as any tyrannical state next door!
Instead of praying and fasting, the Zambian government must instead practice good governance in which justice prevails and citizens, including the Barotse people, are allowed to enjoy their inalienable human rights, and the good Lord would no doubt bless Zambia!
Therefore, the Zambian state must forthwith unconditionally release, Afumba Mombotwa, Likando Pelekelo and Inambao Kalima, the Barotse political prisoners the state has imprisoned over the defunct Barotseland Agreement of 1964 after a disputable treason trial!
The state must also set free all other Zambian political prisoners held in various jails for holding dissenting views to Edgar Lungu’s Patriotic Front regime or for allegedly defaming President Lungu!
