Catholic Oblate Liseli radio presenter, Situmbeko Sikuka, has been summoned by Zambia police for allegedly inciting the Lozi community against Zambian government officials after he hosted a show to discuss an apparent unfairness emanating from the just ended Teachers’ recruitment exercise which has sparked much discontent among suitably qualified teachers hailing from the contested Barotseland region.

Mitete constituency UPND Member of Parliament Misheck Mutelo on Friday morning told parliament that the Zambian government should not think the people of Barotseland have forgotten about the Barotseland issue or that the matter was quite.

After wide condemnation from various Barotse nationals and organizations, the Zambian Correctional Services have finally taken gravely ill political prisoner Sylvester Inambao Kalima back to Kasama General hospital for medical attention. He was admitted to the hospital yesterday, Tuesday, November 2017.

The Barotseland Transitional Government (BTG) has warned that should Inambao Sylvester Kalima die in prison, Zambian president Edgar Lungu will personally be held responsible for his death and any other consequential action that would follow as a result.

Sylvester Kalima Inambao, one of the three Barotseland leaders imprisoned for allegedly usurping the power of the Zambian state executive for their role in implementing the 2012 Barotse National Council declaration of independence from Zambia, has once again been hospitalized.
